Custom Woodwork
Made to Be Yours

Distinctive slabs, natural character and

finishing options come together in handcrafted pieces created for your space and vision.

It Starts With the Wood

Every custom project begins with material that already has its own character.

Natural edges, grain patterns, knots, color variations and other distinguishing features help determine what each slab can become. Rustic Roots works with those characteristics—not against them—to create useful, one-of-a-kind pieces for interior and exterior spaces.

Whether you arrive with a specific design in mind or simply fall in love with a particular slab, we can help you explore the possibilities.

Gather Around Something One of a Kind

A custom table becomes part of everyday life—a place for meals, conversations, celebrations, work and time together.

Rustic Roots creates tables in a range of sizes, wood species, styles and finishes. Projects can highlight the natural beauty of solid wood, preserve a dramatic live edge or incorporate epoxy to complement the color and character of the selected material.

Each table is built around the customer’s space, intended use and preferred appearance. The result is a functional piece designed to be enjoyed for years.

Natural Character for Working Spaces

Wood countertops and islands introduce warmth, texture and individuality into kitchens, bars, gathering areas and other spaces.

Customers can select from available slabs and discuss the appropriate dimensions, edge treatment, epoxy options and finish for their project. Depending on the material and design, a countertop may preserve the wood’s natural shape or be crafted into a more refined, uniform surface.

From a distinctive dry-bar top to a large statement island, Rustic Roots can help turn remarkable wood into a focal point.

Preserve What Makes the Wood Different

Live-edge woodworking celebrates the original contours and imperfections of the tree. Instead of removing those characteristics, the design allows them to become part of the finished piece.

Epoxy can be used to fill voids, stabilize areas of the wood, create river-style designs or add carefully selected color. Rustic Roots has experience producing epoxy tables, countertops, desks and other specialty creations in a range of sizes and styles.

Each combination of wood and epoxy is different, allowing the finished piece to reflect both the natural material and the customer’s personal vision.

More Than Tables and Countertops

The custom capabilities at Rustic Roots extend beyond traditional furniture and surfaces.

Depending on the project and available material, custom creations may include:

  • Mantels
  • Desks
  • Benches
  • Shelving
  • Outdoor tables
  • Gliders and seating
  • Beds and specialty furniture
  • Butcher-block pieces
  • Decorative and functional wood features
  • Other one-of-a-kind requests

If you have an unusual idea, bring it to us. Some of the most memorable Rustic Roots projects begin with a request that does not fit neatly into an ordinary category.

Crafted for Where It Will Live

Rustic Roots creates pieces for both interior and exterior use.

The material, construction and finish should be selected according to where the piece will be placed and how it will be used. Customers can choose from a broad selection of finishing options to complement the wood, protect the surface and achieve the preferred appearance.

Because every project is different, we recommend discussing the location and intended use early in the planning process.

We Know the Wood From the Beginning

Sawmilling is where much of the work at Rustic Roots begins.

Because we process logs, produce slabs, air dry lumber and operate our own kiln, we understand the material through each stage of preparation. That connection helps us evaluate the wood’s moisture, stability, grain and natural features before it becomes a finished piece.

It also gives customers access to distinctive materials that may not be available through an ordinary furniture store or lumber supplier.
