For more than a decade, Rustic Roots Warehouse has been milling lumber, working with natural materials and turning creative ideas into useful, distinctive and sometimes completely unexpected creations.
What began as a source of lumber and materials for building projects has grown into something much broader: a working sawmill, a custom woodshop, a place to purchase slabs and specialty lumber, and a destination where families can spend time together and discover something new.
Rustic Roots is difficult to describe in a single word—and that is part of what makes it special.
Where the Work Begins
Much of what happens at Rustic Roots starts at the sawmill.
We process our own material and provide custom milling for qualifying customer-owned logs. Our standard sawmill handles a wide variety of lumber, while our Lucas Mill allows us to work with oversized logs and produce slabs up to six feet wide.
Freshly milled lumber is carefully stacked and air dried. Material can then be kiln dried to reduce moisture, improve stability and prepare it for woodworking, construction or another future use.
Some customers come to us with a log. Others arrive looking for rough-sawn lumber, kiln-dried material or a distinctive live-edge slab. Whatever brings them here, our goal is the same: uncover the best possibilities within the wood.

No two logs are exactly alike. Different species, grain patterns, natural edges and imperfections give every piece its own character.
Rustic Roots uses those characteristics to create custom tables, countertops, islands, mantels, outdoor pieces and other specialty projects. Depending on the intended use and the customer’s vision, a project may incorporate live edges, epoxy, natural wood tones or one of many available finishing options.
Because much of our material is processed here, we understand the wood from its first cut through its final finish. That connection allows us to create pieces that preserve the natural story of the material while serving a practical purpose for years to come.
A Resource for Ideas of Every Size
Rustic Roots serves homeowners, woodworkers, builders, contractors and creative people looking for materials or capabilities they may not find at an ordinary lumber supplier.
Some customers need a single slab or piece of specialty lumber. Others bring us logs for milling or material for kiln drying. Some arrive with a clear plan for a custom table or countertop, while others need help discovering what might be possible.
We welcome practical needs, ambitious ideas and unusual requests. Creating something different is part of what keeps Rustic Roots growing.

Rustic Roots has also grown into an unusual place for families and curious visitors to explore.
Our gem-mining attraction gives children and adults an opportunity to uncover gems, fossils, arrowheads and other surprises. Reserved group experiences may also include animals, a chicken race, tables for parties or field trips, and use of the treehouse playground.
Visitors may arrive to purchase lumber, discuss a custom project or pick up firewood—and discover much more happening around the property.
It is part sawmill, part workshop and part family adventure. Most of all, it is a place unlike the usual.
